How to Use Jymni Ethics Advisor

Quick Start

Open Advisor at /. Write your own personal ethics question, or use Examples to run a built-in case from the Jymni Guide. The header links open How it works, Examples, and this Guide.

Type a personal ethics question. Use one clear situation. Include the choice, people affected, relationship, stakes, and concern when you can.
Review the privacy note. Keep the case anonymous. If the first-custom-evaluation agreement or a quick verification appears, complete it before continuing.
Select Evaluate my case. Advisor reviews the case and returns a Jymni Guide result. You can also press Enter; use Shift+Enter to add a line break.
Read the result. Check the classification, Decision Aid, risks, missing facts, and action steps before you act.
Export or start again. Use Export PDF to open print options, New evaluation for a blank form, or Explore another sample to return to Examples.

Ask a Question

Advisor works best when your question gives enough facts to understand the choice. A vague one-line description is usually not enough.

Good rule: Write the question like you are explaining the situation to a careful friend who knows none of the background.

Protect personal information. Your text is sent to a third-party cloud AI service to generate the evaluation. Leave out names and identifying details. The character counter stops at 1,200 characters.

First custom evaluation: Advisor may ask you to agree to the current Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Select Evaluate my case after checking the agreement. If a privacy-friendly verification appears for a complimentary custom evaluation, complete it and Advisor continues automatically.

Keeping a confidence

My friend told me something private that may affect another person. When, if ever, would it be right to share it?

Vulnerable relative

An older relative keeps sending money to an online acquaintance. How can I protect them without taking away their voice?

Competing promises

I promised to help a neighbor move, but my child now needs me at the same time. How should I decide which commitment comes first?

Strong question format

For a more complete answer, use this plain format:

Choice: What you are considering saying or doing.
People affected: Who may benefit, be burdened, or lose a meaningful choice.
Relationship and setting: What duties, expectations, or power differences matter.
Stakes: What could be gained, lost, repaired, or made irreversible.
Facts: What you know, assume, or still need to learn.
Requested action: What each person is being asked to do or accept.
Concern: What feels risky, unclear, or unfair.

How Jymni Evaluates

Select How it works in the header, or open the How Jymni evaluates panel below the question form. It is expanded for a first visit and may be collapsed after you have reviewed it or run an evaluation; select the panel to reopen it.

Identify the action, the stakes, and who could be helped or harmed.

2. Test both dimensions

Compare ethical soundness with what is realistic, sustainable, and wise.

3. Choose your next move

Review missing facts, safeguards, and a more responsible path forward.

You keep the final say. Jymni is a structured second opinion, not a replacement for your judgment.

Sample Cases

Quadrant	Means	Use it to study
Aligned	Ethical and effective.	Choices that respect people and are workable in real life.
Self-Serving	Effective, but not ethical enough.	Choices that may work for the decision-maker but create trust, fairness, or harm risks.
Well-Meant	Ethical, but not very effective.	Choices that mean well but may be poorly informed, disproportionate, or likely to backfire.
Reckless	Not ethical and not effective.	Choices that may hurt people and are unlikely to solve the problem.

Open Examples. Select Examples in the header or scroll to Explore real-world choices by outcome.
Choose a quadrant. Select Aligned, Self-Serving, Well-Meant, or Reckless to update the example list.
Select Evaluate example. Advisor runs that built-in case immediately. Samples do not require the first-custom-evaluation agreement or quick verification.
Keep exploring. On the result, select Explore another sample to return to Examples, or New evaluation to open a blank question form.

Read Results

A result starts with the Jymni Guide classification, then gives the reasoning behind it. Read the whole result before you act on the final verdict.

Final Verdict	The bottom-line recommendation.	Use it to decide whether to revise, review, or move ahead.

Advisor is guidance, not a final authority. For legal, medical, financial, safety, abuse, or other high-stakes situations, seek qualified help before acting.

Export or Start Again

After Advisor finishes, you can create a local PDF or choose where your next evaluation begins.

Export PDF

Builds a print-ready report on your device and opens the browser’s print options. Choose Save as PDF to keep a file; the evaluation is not uploaded again.

New evaluation

Clears the result and opens a blank question form. This action appears in the completed-case receipt and after custom results.

Explore another sample

Appears after a sample result and returns directly to the Examples section with the quadrant picker ready.

Review the case and result first. Use View case when shown, open the Decision Aid, and confirm the classification and advice make sense.
Select Export PDF when you need a copy. In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF and select where to save it.
Choose the next destination. Select New evaluation for a blank form, or Explore another sample to return to the quadrant and example list.

Tips

If this happens	Try this
The answer feels too general.	Add the people affected, relationship, setting, facts, stakes, and exact concern.
Advisor says facts are missing.	Do not ignore that. Find the missing fact, reduce the risk, or ask a trusted person for help.
The classification surprises you.	Read the risk and values sections. The issue may be about pressure, missing facts, consent, or fairness.
How Jymni evaluates is closed.	Select How it works in the header or select the collapsed How Jymni evaluates panel.
Evaluate my case stays unavailable.	Add enough detail to the question, complete the first-evaluation agreement if shown, and follow any verification prompt.
Export PDF opens print options instead of downloading.	That is expected. Choose Save as PDF in the browser’s destination or printer menu.
